Hi guys,
Here are my 2 designs for my webpage!
-My first concept was to do something cute and eye-catching. I went with yellow and a dark blue to create contrast and feeling. I also wanted to make sure everything was readable.
-My second concept was to do something more vintage. I used negative space and images to lead the eye through the design. I experimented with different fonts to make it interesting but readable.
Let me know what you think!

Hey Katelyn, great job on both designs. Each design is great but personly I felt like your first design jumped out at me more. The visual elements and placing of each element is spot on. I like how the drawings add to the design aspect of the site without drowning out all the personal stuff you need to tell with the page. The fonts and color choice also match the look you're going for. The only thing I would change would be the size of the project links. If you look at it enough the words seem a little "squished" in the boxes. Other than that your first design is the way to go

Hi Katelyn,
I'm very impressed by your designs! I think where you have things makes navigation easy, and the images are enjoyable to look at.
I'm trying to figure just what gives me this feeling, but the design with the adorable character somehow looks too serious to me. I'm thinking it may be that particular blue used. I immediately thought of an insurance company or home security company. Or maybe it's that color combined with the somewhat plain fonts.

Hello,
I like that you created 2 totally different designs. The cat paws are cute. I think both of your designs have functionality and easily can be navigated and easily read.
Great job

Nicely done, Katelyn. You have two really strong designs here. In fact, they're so strong that I'd say you've got a pick 'em here. Both are equally strong so I'll give you my opinion on both and then you can pick amongst them.
Your first design has a great artsy feel. The whole website feels like a sketchpad and that's a warm, inviting, look for a website "advertising" a creative person. You do a good job backing up that theme with sketch/brush artistic flourishes and excellent typography. I'm always a sucker for contrast and this one uses it really well, particularly in areas that need to catch the eye, like your navigation. I like the photographic arrangement at the top of your mobile design and the left of your computer design. It communicates a feeling of artistic creativity and speaks toward you as a fine artist. It also does a lot of the heavy lifting in terms of color; warming up a cool, high contrast design. The rest of the color is, of course, taken up by your highlight red that helps move the eye through the composition. Your navigation is large and easy to see and use.
I only really have one issue with this design. One, I think the type through the whole design is a few points too big. Because of that size, it loses a bit of margin between all of the typographic elements and feels a little crowded. I think if you reduced all the type by three or four points in each instance, it would really open up the whole thing and give all your type and other elements room to breathe.
Your second design is both super clean and super adorable. The cat logo makes me smile. He/she/it is an adorbs little ink sketch that softens your whole layout. That kitty takes your clean, modern design and adds a fun bit of visual interest. I also like the use of the round container for the cat. Your design is a modern design of implied hard edges and the circle is a nice contrast. Good layout work on the design. Excellent use of alignments and placement to create shapes where there are none especially the combined left alignment of all your typography. You also used color extremely well on this one. I like the interplay between the white, dark blue, and slightly creamy yellow. The blue is dark enough to create a great contrast with the yellow and the white. I like your typography too. It goes well with the clean, modern theme you've established. Your navigation is easy to see and use as well.
This one needs only a few small tweaks, in my opinion. On your computer rough, I'd recommend rounding the left edge of your navigation bar to match the rounded "cat carrier" on the left. Watch the left edge on your bodycopy. Add just a little more room between the end of your bodycopy and "Contact Me" to separate the sections a little more. Move the kitty more toward the center on your mobile rough. Maybe see what the design would look like with justified type? If it looks too harsh, I don't think it's necessary.
I like what I see here. Great work!

Hello, I am more drawn to your yellow and blue design just because i think simplicity is beneficial in web. I think just playing with the way type is organized and the way they play with the shapes could help the design be better. Good job!

Hello!
I do love the quality of your images and the colors you pic. It caught me more the yellow-blue theme. Im not quite sure of the line that is in your first design, but it doesn't look bad at all. Vey well done and inspiring.

Hi Katelyn, Both of your design is really good, I think you should play around the navigation, it's a bit crowded in one spot on both computers and mobiles layout.

Hello Katelyn, I really love the kitty logo! I feel that the rough with the rose in the background is my favorite. It is very aesthetic and the colors are nice. I would say that it does feel a bit clumped together with the navigation bar.

Meow meow Katelyn!
I really like both designs! The colors are all working marvelously. The design with the cat is just so cute and the other design looks so creative. I like both of them, so I cannot choose. Both layouts are working well and I have no problem with the fonts! So yeah.. you did a great job!!
