Hello You Guys!
My name is Heather, and this is my final layout for project 1.
I really liked my second layout, so I decided to continue editing and working with it. I ended up retracing the girl, so she wouldn't be blurry, and I added more arm, more shirt, and put reflections on her lip. I tried to draw the elbow of the other arm but didn't like the outcome.
I changed the top color to yellow because I thought it stood out more, I also added more room to the title bar, navigation bar, and footer, so they don't look crowded by the edges. I changed the about me font to something bolder, but also made it smaller to create hierarchy. I tried to make the about me yellow but didn't think it looked as good as the dark gray. Lastly, I changed the navigation text to a slightly bolder choice.
For the mobile version, I moved the girl and airplane more towards the center in order to fill up space. I also moved the home and resources button above my name, so the navigation bar doesn't look crowded.
I designed this the way that I did because I wanted something simple, but eye-grabbing, and I think this achieves that. I also wanted a little bit of my personality into it. I think the girl represents the sassy/sarcastic part of me (although, it is not a picture of me). However, I traced it and changed certain elements of it to make it work better.

I really enjoy color schemes, and I wanted my color scheme to look good because color is what draws people in. This website helped me grasp a good understanding of color schemes to use for websites, and what the color schemes would present towards the audience. I prefer simple color scheme instead of bright colors, so I really focused on those.

I was struggling at first with having too much negative space, so then I tried to add other elements to my design when it became overcrowded. This website helped me define the correct amount of negative space to have. I got rid of some of my images, stuck with the girl drawing, and added in the paper airplane to fill in the other negative space.

I love your design! It's super cool!
I especially like how simple the design is, with the yellow as a nice accent. The pictures are stylish, too

Hey, Heather!
I think it's super creative that you added a drawn self-portrait of yourself. I also find the color scheme very inviting yet strong. The muted yellow works greats with the black and white without being aggressive which black and yellow often are. Both layouts for the phone and computer are very clean and organized. The paper airplane is a great, quirky touch too! The fonts work so well together and in unison with the theme. Great job...I love it!

Hi Heather,
I really like this design. It speaks creative, calm, cool, and collected. The orange really pops against the white. The black used also makes a really nice subtle contrast. Nice job!

I like the simplicity of your design. It may be plain but it works. I don't see much that I would change in this. It's a great start.

Hi Heather!
Great choice with going with the yellow color. I love how in the mobile version you have a top bar that has the home and menu, then your name, and then another bar with the projects. The plane in the mobile version helps lead the eye to the top of your page. Love what you added to the girl drawing as well. Really love this design. Great job!

Ayyyyyyy! It's the mustard one.
So with your subtle tweaks this thing has become more hip and urban. But with mustard. I like the mustard. It's a fun color that is simultaneously trendy and appetizing (or maybe I shouldn't do these critiques hungry). The rest of the design uses contrast so well, it's easy to see everything. The strips of color and white do a great job of delineating sections throughout the layout. The design is super clean. Like antiseptically clean. As in your preliminary version, your type is really strong here. I like the hand inked script type your name is in, the sketch type your page title is in and the sans-serif type that everything else it in. It all works well together and helps emphasize the kind of trendy feel this whole thing has. Deal With It Girl still makes me laugh too. She is just so done with everything she can't even speak about it. Only sigh and stare off into the middle distance. I like the added margins you've grafted in as well. It opens the layout up a little bit and makes everything feel less crowded.
I think the "Heather Amistani" script type needed a little more bottom margin on your computer layout (it's better on your mobile version). Deal With It Girl would have looked better centered on the mobile layout, I think.
Nice job. This one has a particular feel it's going for and it just nails it. It deserves every bit of praise the class is sending it's way.

Hi Heather,
I'm glad you chose this layout over the green one. I am not a fan of the color mustard, so I personally would have kept it blue, but to each their own. I love the super clean design aspect and the girl illustration. I think that you may be using one too many different types of fonts. I would make the menu items the same font as the body copy and class info.

Hi Heather,
I really like your illustrations, especially how they are only black lines. I would just play with the placement of the images so they're not cut off.

Hi Heather!
I really like this design! It makes me feel really calm. I love the illustration you have and I think your font choices are working really well together. I especially love the font with your name, I think it really ties in your composition. I really like the yellow over the blue, but maybe finding a slightly lighter yellow would work better. Awesome job Heather! I can't wait to see this published
