These are the designs that I cam up with for project 4. I tired to keep the overall theme of the TMCC website prevalent through
all of the designs while keeping a minimalistic tone to the overall design.

Hi Carl,
I like your first design a lot, the image in the background looks good. The only thing I would change is the the color overlay and make it less yellow and maybe more green. Good job!

Hello Carl,
I really like your second design! I love the fonts you chose, the second shape behind the images, the circles you chose for the instructors, and the design you did in the rectangles on the instructor's page. I would use a thicker font for the body copy on the instructor's page because the text blends into the design a bit. Great job!

Hi Carl,
Nice job maintaining the consistent TMCC feel throughout. I like the free transparent overlay and your fonts too. I think it was a strong choice to use a black bg for your text. I would just give your body copy and headlines a little more padding.

Okay, that's pretty damn interesting. You used TMCC's hideous pea green to like, sepia tone the whole composition. You've pickled your website!
I like your first design better. It's the more minimalistic of the two and uses contrast better. Everything pops out so nicely on it. I really like how you've taken the top images and dimmed it so much with your sepia/pickling that your white nav type and logo pop right out against it. That's pretty darn interesting. I also like the use of white to designate important type and then having your bodycopy in TMCC's hideous green. Good typographic choices as well. It looks like you've chosen one font and are just using different weights of it to establish hierarchy. That really unifies the whole thing. And the unusual choice of making the type area black really pays off for you too. It's eye catching and brightens your sepia toned imagery.
Watch your margin between your headline and your top image on your computer layout. It's a little tight. Your mobile margin there is just fine though. I'd also recommend a smaller picture or two in your content area to illustrate or reinforce your content a bit.
Good work.

Hi Peter.
I really like both of your designs. I think I like the first one the best but, like I said I think both look great. I like that you used a transparent overlay of green on the background picture. Makes it interesting to look at. I also like that you used green as your font color the main section. It works well against the black background and is still easy to read. The navigation is simple and also very easy to read. There is not too much going on and works really well with such minimal design. Everything is organized well and I there is a good amount of space on all the margins. Good job.

Hello Carl,
Really good concepts you have. I am very fond of the green filter you have for the header image in the first concept. I also like the backdrops for the instructor's information on the second concept. I think either will work fine, but if I had to choose one I'd say the second because of the backdrops. I would like to see more of that, I think backdrop on the header will work great.

Hi Carl,
I am slightly torn between these designs because they both have good aspects to them. I like the color of the filter you are using on your image so that the text is still legible, it feels like you've put some sunglasses on all of us as we look down at the campus. But I also like how on your second design you have it sitting next to the text and it has its own flat drop-shadow and I like your bigger header area with the title of the page being left aligned rather than centered but I think that info would look better white rather than the black. All that black is making things seem even darker, unlike on your first design, the big image and the white text helps to brighten up the top part so things don't seem so dark and muted as your second design. I like that you kept the flat drop-shadow for the instructors page, but the pattern you have going on within the body copy is too much for how visible it is at the moment and would suggest either toning it down or completely getting rid of it and keep the visual interest to the instructor images.

Hi Carl!
I really like the layouts of your two designs. They're spaced very evenly and the colors and copy work well together especially how they are placed. I think the only thing I would suggest is maybe adding in a couple different fonts so it's not all the wide, rounded sanserif font throughout. Besides that minor thing these are really cool designs, awesome job!

Hi Carl,
You have some really nice compositions here! The first thing that stands out to me is the tinted background with the green. Nice job on that I think it looks really nice and fits well with the theme! I really like your font choices with the bold sans serif and you have nice body text as well. I really like the home page for the first composition, and the instructor page for the second composition. It would be cool to see you combine those together. My only suggestion is that the body text gets a little bit lost with the color choice, so maybe by making that white as well would work better so it's more visible. Great work!
