Hey guy!

I wanted to make the website represent me so I chose fruits and cocktails. I just love drinking and fruits so I wanted the website to show that. On the first rough, I wanted to use a lemon as a hamburger bar and I wanted to go with a lime theme overall. I also wanted to use the space wisely by making the pictures big and everything overall big. I also tried to stick to a monochromatic theme. For both the mobile and web versions, the menu bar slides out. For the second version, I wanted to try and play with the layout and the position of the context. I stuck to a complementary color theme. Blue and Orange. I will say the color looked a lot better on my screen so I'll keep that in mind when I'm fixing my design.

Yen, Your pages are so beautiful, I love almost every bit of them all, the wide open space, the pretty, pretty colors and the delicate feel of the objects placed. There is one thing that bothers me: the objects that are only partially ON the page... I kept trying to scroll to find the edges. Maybe, if you really like it that way, you could make a subtle frame so that it's clear that the cut-off stems of the stemware is intended. Beautiful work, I look forward to following your career.

Wow! Both of your homepage layouts really pop off the screen with your color choice and corresponding imagery for each. Honestly, both layouts are very well organized and spaced out well that it's very easy on the eyes to follow. As a subjective preference, I really love your second set of layouts as I feel it just has a bit more contrast than the kiwi/lime green option 1 but it's a close call because the the kiwi/lime green really just pops. Option 2 just has that sunset lighting in combination with the cocktail colors that's just really gorgeous to look at plus how you incorporated your name in the negative space of the primary image on the mobile version just looks really well thought out and designed. I actually love the mobil layout so much that I would even say carry that idea up to the desktop version with your name in the mage as the page header. However, I really don't think you could do wrong with either option to proceed forward with. Looking forward to see which one you proceed forward with and where you take it. Great job!

Hi Yen! I agree with Zachary, Wow! These are wonderful, the use of space and typography is really well done, the second concept is your strongest in my eyes, the picture next to the rectangle is really nice, I'm not completely sold on the colors but they are really nice, I might increase the width of the text near the middle to have less empty space there, other then that these are wonderfully done and I'm excited to see whats next!

Your first layout is very green but also neat and works well with the grey that the picture mainly puts out. It is easy to see where the buttons are where each would go. On the mobile version, you might want to choose a different spot or layout for your menu option, though it goes over your writing a bit. Maybe make it longways instead of tall and make the words shorter. Like Proj. Res. Con. that way, they fit in that type of style.

Your second one is very cool and works well with the web version again, but for the mobile, it's a bit hard to see the buttons on top of the picture, you can put a light white box behind it, so it is easier to read or just change the colors of the words when on top of the pictures.

Yup both of these are delicious. I like how you handled the monochromatic theme on the first layout. But I feel drawn the your second rough. It has more space in it. The only thing I would play with is your paragraph text color, I think you were playing with complementary colors but mebbe a nice deep wine red would tie it all together so sweetly. Or a better way to say that is, use you're monochromatic idea with a strong color from your image...I don't know. Awesome work.

These concepts are so cool! And I think you succeeded in having your character shine through both of them because of how they look so professional and creative--amazing work! My favorite one out of these two has got to be the first concept, not that the other one is bad, but this design emits a cheerful and light-hearted tone within its composition; this feeling also affects the viewer, making your website very immersive! All I have to suggest is fixing the paragraph on the mobile format--it looks cramped up inside of the lime-green rectangle--and the placement of the course information on both (computer-sized and mobile), where they are right now seems sort of awkward. Other than that, all of these roughs are great! And I can't wait to see which one you'll go with for the final submission!

I like your second one better. The colors work with your image better. Your first design is a little clashy between the limes and your image.

It's a very clean layout that symmetrically balances images and type well. I especially like how your bodycopy works with the image along the bottom of your text area. Your image is an interesting choice. "Party hearty wine mom" v i b e s going on here. Nice work using it as the basis for your colorscheme, too. It ties the whole composition together. Good choice with your typography as well. You're using different weights of the same font to establish hierarchy, which is a favorite trick of mine. Good use Your navigation is easy to see and use. Great use of margins throughout your design. Everything has room to breathe without getting too fragmented. The whole thing (layout, color, type) combines to make a great whole.

I'd be tempted to make the bodycopy black on your mobile version just to match your headline and nav. Blue looks like a color too many on that layout. I'd be tempted to shift your bodycopy slightly to the right as well so it notches into your image like it does on the computer layout. Maybe try using lighter and bolder versions of your type on both to make the hierarchy more obvious.

hey yen I really love your first design layout. I think it flows very nicely and the colors are great! I really like the images and how accessible everything is on your design. this looks really nice!

I like both these compositions alot but as for readability and overall theme I'd have to say the lime and kiwi version of these is the one I prefer. It holds the theme a bit better and the UI is much cleaner and in intuitive places. It is precise and clean which is something a lot of designers I know struggle with, the only thing I might suggest is finding a way to put a bit of contrast within your function buttons so they jump out of the composition and alert the user to their function. Not an overabundance of contrast like red but maybe a well placed box or highlight to lift them from the background. Otherwise I like both very much and look forward to seeing their completion.
