Hello James Hill Here,
These are all very rough as I didn't notice that they were due.
These were some of the website designs I took inspiration form.
https://w3layouts.com/template/megacorp ... -template/
https://w3layouts.com/template/induz-a- ... -template/
I was Inspired by the industrial sleek look of the designs and the mechanical look. I like the look of my professional websites so I wanted to go and design mine like that. I wanted to make a website that I could see myself use. also drew some inspiration with help from websites like
https://www.squarespace.com/templates/b ... /portfolio
I made a small mistake when reading the guidelines and made a original design which is my first 2 designs which I dont like as much as the second design which are based on the websites that I looked at. I like both of my designs but prefer the second one more. I think I am going in the right direction but can see some improving.

Hi James, I remember you from Kawada's class. I didn't realize we were at this point either, I though we were submitting hand-drawings. :- ) I recognize your offerings here are not up to the artistry you demonstrated in the past, however, I DO like the starry sky background a lot! I appreciate the wide-open look of them, no clutter, very simple, straightforward. I like your mix of fonts, they blend nicely and easy to read. I appreciate all the LARGE FONTS THANK YOU OLD PEOPLE LOOK AT WEBSITES TOO. :- ) I couldn't really catch what you admired about the sites you linked to, I guess the simplicity of them---but the information on them disappeared to me, so tiny considering the size of page they were working with. I really like your starry sky and the bold, simple, big blocks of copy and big block letters...

Hi James, I agree that the second one has a lot of promise and I would continue with that one. The large fonts are nice but they are a bit overpowering compared to everything else, also I would take out the gray rectangle and increase the size of the space background, the text at the top is really nice and I would continue using that throughout the rest. The mobile design needs some work but it's in a good place, similar points to the desktop layout in terms of the text and background. Otherwise this is really promising start, excited to see where this goes!

hiya
I like the designs of both of your websites as both are nice in their own individual way. I can tell from your explanation that they are very rough, and it's all part of the process.
The first one is simple and has a cute doggo picture with a white background. The red and grey of your type, at least to my eyes, are vibrating together, so you might need to change the hue or saturation of one of the colors so it doesn't vibrate and hurt people's heads when reading the buttons and title. Your website also has a lot of blank space on that design, so maybe you can make a few things bigger to fill up all that white space. Your mobile version of it is great, on the other hand.
On the other hand, your second design is great with the galaxy theme and how easy on the eyes and readable it is compared to the other one. There isn't as much white space as the first design on this one simply because of the type of picture you choose to use with the galaxy. Still, maybe you can make your paragraph about yourself bigger, so you don't have to squint and get closer to the screen to read it.

Hi James,
This one snuck up on me too, so I feel ya. I feel like I the second rough better for the web. I would just keep playing with all the elements, it just seems a little cold and boxy, but have fun awesome job.

Hey James,
Even though you had mentioned that prefer your second concept the most out of the two, I am still sort of fond of the first one. I think this one captures a minimalist feel to it and establishes a great sense of white space within its layout--however, those harsh red rectangles are too overbearing against the pure white background. If you tint them to be a lighter or more dull red color, I think it would greatly improve its chances of being your final design for the second submission. But your second concept is also good as well! With this one, I mainly enjoy how the computer-sized format has most of its elements near the bottom of the screen, it is very unique placement and immediately grabs my interest. I don't know if this was intentional or not, but by placing the image of the galaxy at the top of the website, it generates the idea that the viewer is looking up into space when visiting your site for the first time--and I find this feature to be really cool! However, it is lost when the image switches to the bottom in your mobile version. At first, I thought that the white rectangle containing your name and the rest of the text was a separate image, but it wasn't! So, you will have to try and connect it back to the rest of your composition in order to keep a continuous flow within the whole layout, that way the viewer's eyes do not just stop at the edge between the of white rectangle and galaxy image. Besides that, another change that you would have to make is increasing the size of your introduction paragraph in the computer-size format--it is very small and difficult to read. But besides all these suggestions, I think you are onto a great start, and I can't wait to see how you will revise them to suit what you have in mind for the final submission. Good job!

I concur with your thoughts, James. I'm all about your second design. Though that Shiba Inu in the first one is totes adorable.
But I'm all about that space design. That background image works so well to immediately establish a look and feel and you generally do a good job of running with it. I like your color selections as well. You use your image for like 80% of your color and then you pick colors that compliment it well, especially the warm gray and the red/orange button box color. I especially like your bio/nav area in the middle of your computer layout. Really ties the whole composition together as well as drawing they eye to your navigation and important content. Your navigation is easy to see and use. Good use of margins throughout. Nothing feels particularly crowded. I like your type choice for your headline and buttons. It really stands out and demands to be looked at.
I'd recommend changing the top of your mobile design to reflect the design of your informational area (i.e. warm gray with contrasting white type and orange accents). I'd also rip out all the serif type in both your computer and mobile designs and replace it with sans-serif type. That would go better with the squared off edges and high tech feel it has. Maybe see if there's a place for the Shiba Inu from your first design in there somewhere
Good effort! Too the moon and such!

hi James,
I really think you are off to a good start here. The second design you posted I believe is your strongest, but I feel the top section with your name and bio should have a little bit more detail, either with color, or playing with some more shape to really bring your layout to life.

While both need work on balance I would say the one that represents the most potential would be the dark nebulus background. I actually really like the bold red squares but where I am not to sure on is the white box that splits the screen in two, it puts a hitch in the middle of the page, have you thought of just letting the nebula or space background speak for itself and then bracketing it with the text to draw the eye and create interest? I like the idea behind it but it feels like it needs to be reworked a bit to find the soul of the design before you jump into functionality. I dig the idea and look forward to checking out where you are at when it's finished
Regards

I like the preliminary I’d add a bit more over the background to attract the audience. Good start!
