I wanted to go with a simplified and clean approach to my design. I really wanted to bring strong colors but I hope with HTML and CSS that I will be able to create a more detailed design for my website. I was really inspired by Crystal Frankenberry
https://hellofrankenbery.com/ and Cristiaan the Designer
https://www.cristiaanthedesigner.com/work. Crystal Frankenberry has a very colorful and bright approach that provides an efficient function for the user. Cristiaan has creative typography and a great contrast between black and white.

Hey Amara,
Great concepts! I really enjoy the look of the second design the best! The first concept sort of reminds me of a real estate business webpage, so I think that the layout of the second one seems more doable since it is closer to the idea that you are trying to aim for based on the websites/portfolios you had linked for inspiration. I also do like the pink-ish border framing the top and left sides of the site, it provides a nice ledge for your name and navigation to rest on without conflicting with the text elements near the center. My only critiques would be: incorporating the color white (for example, maybe changing the hue of the paragraph text in the center to be white rather than keeping it pink--so that way it will stand more prominently against the dark gray background); using 2-3 fonts to help establish more hierarchy and contrast within the text, and lastly, simply adjusting the alignment of a few things (ex: your email address ; and the spacing of your name from the paragraph). But other than that, I think you are onto a great start and I am interested with how you will take this design to the final! Good job!

Hi Amara! I like your second design, I think it has good flow and organization. If I were to suggest anything I think it would be to either change your body copy color or the dark gray color because they are both muted they seem to need more contrast. Nice start!

I like your layout reminds me of a book cover or magazine article. I’d add a few shades of yellow.

Hello Amara,
I do like things about each of your 2 palettes and 4 layouts... the yellow and dark combo is almost challenging to 'enjoy' for a color-lover like me, but that lack of visual interest in any color art, so to speak, is partially what drew my eyes to the photo, which is the opposite of challenging: it's a very engaging warm pose and look. The layouts in that set are simple, though, the list of what I presume to be "links" buttons (your resume list) is all pressed together, can't differentiate the subjects/link buttons. So maybe find a way to set each line apart, and, without leaving an orphan on that first button, if you use that whole term "t.. m.. c.. c.." Same with the body copy... it feels pressed too close to its headline.
I really enjoy the second color palette, very easy to look at, lots of 'negative space' that has a positive impact with its pretty, kind of healing to tired eyes, color.
I looked at your inspiration websites... and they are both chock full of ideas in a similar vein. In both, a lot of block colors, muted shades; maybe that's a trend happening. Very simple and basic, and, kind of homogenized. That works for your website design, for me, because your photograph is so appealing.
I hope there's something useful in that. :- )
