project 2 final

Hello all the people who gave me tips
So for my project, I decided to go with the simple layout and changed the colors with dark mode combining the two.
I changed the kitty into a night mode kitty picture since the light mode kitty doesn't fit dark mode.
I also finally added my email and the paragraph about myself.
The two websites I mainly used would be these two. I skimmed over most of the stuff to get the basic gist and took what I needed help with from each site.

Will take any advice you can give me.

Cool colors and fonts and nice night Kitty, I like it. A neon-y night vibe going on. If I had to change anything, it would be the buddy copy, with dangling "orphan" words, that is the lines that only have one word on them. I think there might have been a way to give breaks to your paragraphs and also give these orphans a home. I think I would have maybe chosen a different margin for that text. Anyway, an easy change, if it is something that you want to change. Otherwise I think its very cool.

Hi Samantha, these designs are great, a neon vibe with a bit of muted colors to make it more mysterious, really nicely done. I agree with Kevin about the line lengths, an easy fix for that is just lowering the font size a few points, other than that these are super nice and easy to read. Great Job!

More polls?! Alright, I'm in.
Gotta go with waffles. Just as delicious as pancakes, but with little food cups built right in!
Interesting design selection. It looks almost flourescent. Like I'm examining your design under blacklight. Your photo is helping this impression. It looks like it's one of those glow-in-the-dark cat/jellyfish hybrids they're making in Korea. I especially like the glowing gradient background shapes behind your content and navigation. Good use on contrast throughout you layout, too. Everything really pops. An interesting font selection for your headline and navigation. Looks like one of those glowing grease pencils. The whole thing feels handwritten, which gives it a fun touch. It actually a clean, simple layout that is spruced up by all of your glowing you inserted in there.
I think it would have looked better if your navigation type on your buttons was a little smaller so there would be a little margins on the left and right side of your type. Also, your bodycopy would have looked better left aligned rather than center aligned. It too was a little tight to the edges of it's container.
Not bad!

This reminds me of science and space. Dark matter and atoms with neutrons revolving like a washer machine. Real cool!

Hello Samantha,
I gotta say I love these. They remind me of going to the bowling alley when they have all the party lights going. It looks positively neon and glowy. I think it helps that that particular decorative font you used makes me think of sprinkles. It makes me happy to look at. The only thing I want to nitpick actually isn't even about the design. In your body copy, there are a few uncapitalized instances of I. I would also like to third the comment about line lengths for the mobile version. I had to mess around with that in my designs as well. But the design itself is really fun and cool.

Hi Samantha!
I really love your color choice and how your layout ties into your main graphic of the cat with the luminescent butterflies flying around. I feel as if I am the cat visiting your colorful website - it really pops off the screen and gives me total Avatar vibes (the James Cameron film). Overall, I think your use of fonts are easy to read and compliment the fluorescent vibe you've established within the layout as well as your whole layout being fairly easy to understand and follow.
A couple of small critiques I would watch out for as you progress further with creating this site is to watch your alignments of your different sections. What I try to do when creating a layout is I always turn on grids and start from the outside perimeter of the layout and work inwards, making sure the content is evenly spaced on every side as well as lining up the edges of each box section (for example your name and header section sticks further out than the main homepage content box below it in the desktop version) and making sure the spacing between each section is even across the whole page. Also try reworking your paragraph structure a bit on the about me section as it jumps to new lines when it doesn't need to - it'll make for an easier flow when reading and aesthetically it'll look more symmetrical. For the mobile version, same thing but perhaps try to fit "Project" with the project numbers as it's hard know what those numbers mean unless the user has been to your main desktop site prior.
Overall though, excellent job in making a very eye-catching site. I think web design in general is very challenging and I know for me I can never stop messing with stuff and moving things around, resizing things, changing fonts, etc. I think what you have here is going to result in a beautiful final site. Way to kill it on making an awesome foundation to work forward from. Looking forward to seeing this mockup become the real thing!
P.S. I LOVE WAFFLES! Waffles all the way. Oh man... now Im hungry. lol

Hi Samantha,
I like florescent night kitty mode. It ties together very nicely. The body font is a bit hard on my eyes, but this is nitpicky, and I have the same problem with my own project. good job.

Hey Samantha,
I like the dark theme a lot! It gives me space invader vibes. I like the color theme a lot. I also really like how you use the box to organize your layout. I also really like the gradients it's a good way to make stuff pop out! I also prefer waffles just because they don't get as soggy as pancakes. I still love both though don't get me wrong.

Samantha, your pages turned out so nice! What a unique color palette, surprising and easy to read. I love the picture, though I did have to zoom in to tell what it was... It's distorted and if it wasn't I could probably tell what it was without zooming. I like the fonts you chose, they're fun and artsy, yet still very legible; they are like your personality, fun and light and colorful and different (so presumptuous of me, but what else could you be with such a fun design?) The only things I would add is that on your pc version, your grouping of your name and email addy could be aligned slightly better, nudge the email addy to the left a few characters. On the mobile version, I like it all, but I bet some designers might tighten up the body copy into fewer paragraphs and less blanks on the right side of things--if there are to be indents, let them be on the first lines of each paragraph, and nudge the entire text box down a teeny bit from the top, but, in the final analysis, the way you did it conveyed a accessibility to your personality, to your conversational openness. The font is like that, casual and chatty. Idk if I would change it, but if you do, only slightly. :- )
