Hey all! The first website I picked is from a guitar youtuber that I follow who also happens to be a creative director for a marketing company. I liked his style and put a little bit of it in my own web page. The second one is an artist's website. I wanted to find a website that was about one person instead of a company website. I again liked the cleanliness of it and I liked the script font he chose for his name. I tried to do the same with my site. I went for a minimalist and clean look.

Hey Kevin,
I think that its awesome you did a clipping mask for your portrait and incorporated it in your first design. I think the color palettes you've used for both layouts compliment your portrait and create a calm feel to your website and mobile designs! I also noticed that you used an expressive font for your headline which I think is cool! Something that might help your second design is change the color of your name that is placed in the navigation bar and possibly make it lighter so that it can better stand out! Hope that helps and can't wait to see your work during this semester, good luck!

Hey Kevin,
I really like the blue tones you used throughout your layouts and how they complement the blue shirt you are wearing in your pictures. I think you also use expressive type quite well, it almost looks like your own personal signature and adds some personality to your web pages! I think some things that would help your layouts would be to work on space ratio, on your second mobile design your picture is so big that the information kind of gets lost and thrown aside, I also like the ones where the background is on your picture because it looks really good with the blue color you chose even though the mask is a really cool idea as well. Very good designs so far, I'm excited to see the final result!

Hi Kevin,
It's nice to meet you. Good work fitting all the required elements into your designs! Right off the bat, I love your 1st design better, with blue background. Something that would be really cool to try, would be to bring the blue background color down to your shoulders so the top part of your torso is in white. That might make the cool font you chose for your name stand out even more. Honestly, I don't think you need to have your name up there twice, I would choose your favorite and go with that! I LOVE the simplicity, especially with the drop down menu bar names you choose (I'm going to steal that)! It's easy on the eyes and doesn't look crowded. Good Work!

Hello Kevin,
I like the minimalism and sleek aesthetic that you implemented on your layouts. I feel like your use of white space throughout the designs is pretty good and there is an excellent sense of hierarchy regarding the elements on the page. I recommend experimenting with different color schemes and typefaces to create a more unique and interesting design. Aside from that, I believe your on the right track.

Hi Kevin!
I really like both of your designs equally. I really like the expressive font you use in the first one but the cleanliness and colors of the second one look so good!
The only advice I have would be to be careful with the size of your image for both mobile designs. I think it might look too big when actually on a phone. Good Job!

The minimalist, clean look is working for you, Kevin. In fact, I'd say the better of these two is your first one, which is the most minimalist.
The bit that really sells it for me is that you establish a content box with your gradient and then break your portrait out of it. That adds so much visual interest to your design. Any time you can break out of a box in layout, you take it. It's a quick way to add visual interest to any design. Your white, blue, and black color scheme plays nicely with one another and established great contrast. I like the way you explicitly call out the content area with a gradient as well. The gradient actually softens the harder edges of the design. Such great use of margin on this thing as well. Everything has room to breathe. Great choices on your typography. The various boldnesses of sans-serif type establish hierarchy well and then are magnificently disrupted by the script type you use for your name. Your navigation is well placed and easy to see and use.
I think you can go all the way across the screen with your bodycopy on your mobile layout. Maybe enlarge it a touch on your mobile layout as well.
Excellent work!

Hi Kevin!
Awesome job on your designs, they look very professional! The colors you chose are very calming, both layouts are very clean but I'm drawn more to the first design. I really like how you used a more expressive typeface for your name and a more legible one for your body text and other info. Maybe making the "Graphic Designer" a little bolder so it's easier to read. Overall, I look forward to seeing your stuff this semester!

Hello Kevin!
All 4 of your designs are really working for me. Each version feels very modern, without exactly losing its style or personality, which I have found is really easy to do. The background gradient is great and breaks up the white in an excellent way. If I had to pick, I am leaning more toward the first computer layout and the second mobile layout. If I had to offer you any advice, I'd say you should switch your name color to white on the second mobile layout, perhaps reduce the size of the image, and put the gradient back behind it. I do really appreciate the small line design on the second mobile layout, its subtle but helps a lot. I think you could make the color a tiny bit darker. I can't wait to see the final!

Hello Kevin,
I really like both of your roughs. I slightly prefer the first of your two roughs. The blue gradient works very well. Very clean design. I would suggest making the box and text at the bottom in your first mobile rough slightly bigger or reduce the size of the image. The image is taking up a lot of space. Nice work.
