Project 01 Final

Hello class,
For my final project, I chose the two best layouts. I first started out by removing the white box behind the paragraphs of body text, making them white, and adding drop shadows to make them pop out against the darker blue background. I felt like the drop shadow looked really good on my design overall so I added it to a couple more of the assets to help them pop out, it also helps unify the assets as well. I also changed the type on the buttons as well as made them smaller, the type also has an inner shadow to make it stand out. My picture now has a bevel to also let it stand out on the page as well as give it depth. The last of my general changes was adding my contact info underneath my name. The only layout-specific change I did was on my mobile layout, I swapped the TMCC logo and "Spoodley" logos to make it look nicer. Overall I really love the style I came out with and it'd be a really nice design for coding as well.

Hello Osmar,

I like how your final design turned out, The blue in the background is very soothing and nice to look at. I like the way you added a personal logo next to your photo and near your menu tab, it really gives it a more professional look. Good job!
My only suggestion (and it's a nit-pick, admittedly) is to remove the drop shadow from your buttons in both your web and mobile version. Aside from that, your layouts turned out great!

Hi Osmar,

I love your layout and the colors you chose! I know you created that logo as well for ENT 240 if I'm not mistaken, it is a really cool logo and I really enjoy your website. I think if you put a background or some type of shape behind your photo it would make it stand out more. Overall though it is a great composition

Hi Osmar!
Your design turned out really well, it is very clean and organized.
The only advice I have would be to make a contact button, instead of listing your contact info.
Good Job!

Okay, that's just a fantastic logo right there. It looks like the logo for some cutsey tech company. More hand puppet raccoons in student work!

The strongest bit of this design is rather subtle actually. It's your sense of alignment. I see so many edges created by your excellent use of alignment throughout. Nice choice to justify your bodycopy. That effectively turns it into another object block in the design. Great color selection as well. The white and the blue work well together. They create contrast without being stark and make everything easy to see and read. You navigation stands out with your retro skeuomorphic gel buttons and is easy to use as is. I like the way your design comfortably folds between computer and mobile versions. Good type selection too. I like that you've basically used one font outside of the logo and then just used different weights of that font to establish hierarchy. Great use of margins throughout the thing as well.

I think your bodycopy would have looked better with wither a little less spacing between the paragraphs or a little more spacing between the bodycopy and the "About Me" headline.

Great job!

Hi Osmar,
I'm really enjoying your semi-retro design. I think as the project continues you may not need as many "project" buttons, but we are all a little confused as to how many buttons we needed and where to place them :). If I could add anything to your fun design it would be to put a drop shadow on your photo to match the drop shadow you've placed on all your buttons and text. It's the only item that seems to be flat in your design. Good work Osmar! Can't wait to see how it evolves.

Hey Osmar!
I love the changes you have made since prelim. I think the changes to the button really enhance the design overall. I like the subtle drop shadow in most areas, but I think you could consider removing it on the top header. Currently, it is the same effect on the buttons, and that gives me the initial impression that the whole header is a button itself. I think removing it will also allow your logo to stand out more. Lastly, you could also move the body copy in the web layout to align with the banner, which also allows you to shift the buttons over to align with your name and contact info. Good job! :D :D

Hi Osmar,
The colors you've chosen are really great! I think that it's fun but also very clean and professional. Something that you might want to consider is changing the placement of your photo, although I think that it looks great where it is you can maybe play with placement around the "about me" working with kerning and tracking, or even text wrapping so that you can align and keep everything still balanced. Hope that helps! Awesome job! :D

Great layouts Omar! The Spoodley logo is very interesting and shows off your awesome design skills. I would maybe try to find a more playful photo to use since your fonts and logo are so fun and your photo is more serious. But overall, your pages look great!

Hello Osmar,
Good work with your final designs! The font styles and the professional look is working really well with the colors and I think the character of your logo made your design unique and less too professional. I like how you added the drop shadow to everything. I wish the tmcc logo had a drop shadow too. My other suggestion is to make the hamburger button on the mobile version round to match the other round shapes you have. Besides that, I think it looks great! Good job.
