Hi everyone my name is Melissa, and down below I have my two different website designs. With these designs I wanted to make sure that the layout was simple that way others would not be confused as to where things are such as my projects, links, and resources. My designs for the website represent different elements of myself such as my love for nature/flowers, and my love of pastel colors. I wanted to give the website designs an illustrative look to them. I used adobe Illustrator for all four roughs.

I got inspiration from this website , I am a fan of the layout as well as the color schemes that were used in it. I also like how motion graphics were added into it, they make the website feel more interactive.

This was another website I found to be really interesting and interactive, it is themed like a newspaper and it uses so much creativity when showcasing things off such as the persons work since it is a portfolio. I am also a fan of the typography that was used and the way some type is bigger and bolder/ the variety of type.

Hi Melissa,
Your designs are really nice. I enjoyed the graphics you created. I think you kept it simple and to the point. I think your color choices are good. The pink seems a little muted, but it's really hard to tell with the low-res images on this forum. Was there a reason you chose those colors?
I never thought to use only an image of an object, now I kind of wish I had done that with at least one of my designs.
Here's to what's next!

I like your layouts, very color and fun. The flowers are great and it makes me happy. For the purple themed computer layout, I would adjust or shift so the illustrative flower does not go over the photo. Also the floating leaves, I like and are fun. I would make those a little bit bigger, intentional to be very apparent they are leaves/pedals and not in the circle border. Very pretty and I like them both!

Oh nice! I'm all about that pink sunrise tulip design, Melissa. It'll bankrupt the Dutch, that's for sure!
What really catches my eye about it is that circular image frame on both the computer and mobile layouts. It really grabs my eye and drags it toward the center of the composition. Both computer and mobile layouts have a very clear vanishing point(!), which is something you rarely see in web design. I like it. Everything points toward that center. The tulips, which are very well done graphics in their own right act as both a content frame and a pointer toward that sunrise vanishing point. Your navigation is easy to see and use and the nav bar makes for a great framing element. The various tints and shades of pink, white, and green work well together. A good use of complimentary colors. Good use of margins throughout your composition. Everything has room to breathe and expand and contract depending on display size.
I don't think you necessarily need a hamburger menu on either your mobile or your computer layout. You have few enough buttons as it is and they seem to shift nicely between both layouts. Speaking of buttons, I'd shrink your font size in your buttons by a point or two and make sure your type is all vertically aligned so it has the same amount of space between the top and the bottom. Maybe center the type and tulip in the middle of the oval.
Nice work!

Hello Melissa,
I love both of your designs, so pretty! Who doesn't like flowers? You did such a great job on both. For the mobile view you could use a hamburger menu or make the buttons a bit smaller so you can have your bio be a bit larger? For the desktop view make your name the largest, and the links a little smaller? I really like the blue design most, but you are using cool tones and those tend to be my favorite, so I am partial. Well done.

I really like your designs! I personally like the pink one the most, the web layout is very organized and easy to navigate. I think the only recommendation I have is to center the projects, links, and resources for the mobile view. other than that, I really like your designs! they are very thoughtful and executed very well, I also like the flowers by the link and project icons!

Hello Melissa,
These are beautiful designs! I like the flowers in the pink version because they are immediately recognizable. The layout also flows better in that design. The hierarchy of the type could be better; I would think your name is more important than the headings.

Your designs are so cute I love the light colors thats going on with both of them, my only suggestion is to see if centering the text with the flowers makes it look good (alignment, not just the whole box)

Hi,
Your design are beautiful. Both have great color. I like the different flowers that are each design. I can't find anything that you would need to fix. Great job

Hello Melissa,
Beautiful designs you have, they both really capture the eye that I couldn’t even pick one, to be honest both work very well and you can find everything easily on both. Which ever one you decide my only suggestion would be to make your intro slightly larger since it is a bit hard to read, and also making sure your lettering stays within the outer shape you create, since I noticed it on you second design with the word resources. Overall great job, can’t wait to see it.
