For my final design, I wanted to make sure I addressed every piece of feedback I got on my preliminary design. I started by getting my font to be a little bit less shouty and more readable. I also added a slight drop shadow to my body text and I think that really helps with legibility. I then had to face the fact that my notebook and my name didn't really fit together, so I made a new notebook. I wanted to change the colors to be more in line with the left side of the design. I figured there was a lot of yellow already, so I decided to make the cover purple and then make the pages different shades of yellow. I then added a little bit of the grime back to the cover and tweaked some placements. Finally, I added a very flattering picture of myself and put in more of the required content, namely the class information and my email. Thank you for all the feedback. I look forward to seeing everyone else's work!
Websites that educated me:

I found these website useful because they gave me very basic information. They told me some best practices and some things to avoid. That level of information was useful to me because I have never designed a website before.

Re: Project 1 Final
All hail skeuomorphic weirdness! Looking jast as good here as it did in your preliminary work.
Love that the colors and texture carried over from your preliminary design. They're just as strong here. As is the sledgehammer contrast this thing has. The skeuomorphism is still carrying water too. Love the notebook with post it buttons navigation. The type is easy to read and well chosen. The name type in particular looks like something off of a movie poster, or perhaps graffitied on the side of a boxcar. Your somewhat bewildered looking portrait is a great addition. Really gives it that collage madness. It looks like you've been trapped in the Phantom Zone somehow. The tape looks good as well.
I think I liked the spiral on your preliminary work binder a little better. Also, "Home" looks a little big in it's container. The "shadow" behind your name looks like it's being cast from a few different light sources. The type on your post-it note buttons is a little big.
Good work!

Hi Luke,
I like the changes you made to the notebook design looks cleaner than before except for the spiral part of it. This is a very nice layout.

Hey Luke,
I still love the color in your design. I love the note book and post it navigation buttons, it adds character. This is an easy navigational concept. Great work!

Hi luke! Super Job.
This design is really punchy and bright. Its like diary of wimpy kid and im for it.
There are a few things people mentioned but I think the take away is if you adjusted the size differential between graphics and your images/text boxes to be a bit more useable it would bring this to the next level
