Alright, New York’s hottest new website is…
https://www.grc175.com/student/fall-202 ... ghtingale/
This site has everything: a two-part saga about a very young, tortured web designer, an about-me page to find out more about the designer and her cat, and an image that chooses not to load for reasons one can only perceive as being politically motivated. It’s like one part webpage, one part cat cafe, and three parts psychological thriller with an identity crisis.
The colors? They’re a dizzying mix of neon pinks, oranges, and beige that’ll make you feel like you’re at a cat rave. And the story? It’s so unnecessarily detailed—there are plot twists, mystery subplots, and one whole page dedicated to a tabby’s inner monologue about the “meaning of yarn.”
Plus, and this is crazy—real working links.
*some parts of this Stefon imitation are dramatized and will not be found on the webpage.

Storytelling with the critique post? Bringing us in? Most excellent. Someone clearly understood the assignment. Most people just slap up a link and go. Count me as hooked!
I like that you went above and beyond the project requirements. This website's not just a page, but a fully functioning site with multiple pages. You've done an excellent job of realizing your Project One vision here too. I think the best part is that you were able to feed in your custom fonts and make 'em work seamlessly. The sherbet colors are also working well, as they were on your preliminary designs. And that skeuomorphic tape adds just the perfect finishing touch. Somehow, it has even more of a notebook feel live than it did as mockups. All the navigation works, too. And it's liquid, which we all know is the gateway drug to responsiveness.
I think your footer would work a little better if it used "position: sticky;". That way it wouldn't clip over some of the lower content on smaller screens. Your bodycopy font looks a little worse live than it did in mockups, but I see why you chose it.
Excellent work!

Hi Kimberly,
I love your website, everything about it is super cool, and it is fully functional. I can find nothing to critique with your site, you went above and beyond and the finished product shows you worked hard on it. Excellent job!

Hi Kim,
Great job! This is a really nice website with functioning links, lots of pictures, and a great story. It looks pretty clean and fun and is very intuitive. My only suggestion would be to have a smaller footer, this will hopefully give your type above that more room for visibility.
Overall great job!
Rebekah

Hey Kim,
I like that your navigation highlight is just the text itself and of course, your color scheme is very pleasing. Also, very cute adding the description of your cat! Happy you could find your original font for your website it looks so good.

Hi Kimberly!
I LOVE THIS! It’s so cute and I think I said it before but the colors are absolutely amazing and the bright pink is so good with the orange and the tan! It’s perfect

Kim,
First off, I love the way you described your project.
Second, This website is beautiful. It looks exactly like the prelims. The colors, the fonts, the use of space, and the offset rotation of all your images came together to make a really pleasing site. The snapshots of each of your projects are a nice touch, too!
