GRC 175 Learning and Discussion Forum

Ok Ok, I know I should've probably had this done a while ago but I just had the hardest time focusing on this project and making it work. SO, I threw the "retro" Idea out the window because I had no idea how to explain it to you all and make you see it from my point of veiw and after hearing a lot of complaints and changes I said heck with it and have been conimplating this new idea for over 2 weeks now and well...last night after a severe back injury or pinched nerve and a dose of vicadin later I made this...Im really liking this one now, and it really screams me, I love mixing two oppostie elements together... so here I chose to blend a grunge, torn/wore out idea with very modern clean elements. Hope you all like this one!

I like that it has the retro feel that you had before. The only change I would make is to tone down the green a little bit, Its intensity overwhelms the whole design

*op never mind on the green comment, I think it was my monitor calibration :S

my only suggestion is to push the words "Project 1' and 'project 2' away from the edge of the the button a little.

Great Design like the graphics in your buttons. Might want to move your name over just a tad so that it's not right next to the names on the buttons beside it. The color are bright maybe tone down a tad. It's only my personal likes but the bright is cheerful. Sorry you were having such a hard time. Looks wonderful but I like the first one too! Hope this helps!

I really, really like this design! The only thing that bothers me is that the text on the buttons is not symmetrical (I'm not sure if that's the correct term). If the text was on the same side of each of the squares it would draw the eye clockwise around the buttons. That would also bring the viewers eye to the name. I like grunge a lot even though it may be overused, and you have done a great job of combining the background with the contrasting buttons.

I like this concept a lot. I agree that the text is too close to the edge on the buttons. Do you plan on having all the squares centered on the page? I think it would work in that sense, but you would have a lot of background space. Especially on the iMacs at school.
