Here are my two layouts for preliminary critique:
1. On this layout I wanted to create a graphic based navigation menu and use proximity to create the different sections required for the project. I used grayscale to create contrast and used a "handwritten" type to give the design a little bit of texture and grit.
2. On the second layout I'm attempting to use color and size to create some emphasis and contrast. I think the colors work well together and the varying sizes of type help to create a focal point, but I do want to work on the layout (specifically the location of the navigation menu) Edit: I did change some of the sizing to give it some breathing room.
Two websites that I find insprational are http://dribbble.com which is a "Pinterest" for graphic designers. It is full of awesome Illustrator renderings and are great inspiration for taking renderings to the next level and looking for new ideas and techniques. It is my "how did they do that?" website. My second site is http://www.aisleone.net/ which is a blog for minimalist and typographical design. The site shows many examples of modernism through the years and displays media from many sources.

Very nice Aharon,
I like the black and white layout more. The graphics and style speak more to me than the orange one.
For me, the orange layout is just too busy.

Hey buddy-
I most defiantly love the first rough. I like how you incorporated your pervious GRC art in them. Your typography and page layout are amazing and the logo of TMCC in the background was a wise choice…You’ve done well, young one, pretty soon you shall be great like me

Hi Aharon!
I like the black and white one. I like the stylized link buttons, makes it more creative and personal. I like the font chosen for your name and "I am ME", but for the class, info, and body type, I would use a sans-serif type, or something more legible. It would be too hard to read and I would lose interest reading it right away. But the design is over all my favorite and awesome.

Defiantly go with the black and white one! There is a very interesting composition, I like how you set up images and typefaces. Orange is kinda too simple.

Hi Aharon,
I think both of your layouts work really well. I'm going to say no to layout number two, mainly because that orange reminds me so much of the Stihl (sp?) power saw ad you did in GRC 156.
I think the first layout is really solid. I like how you used the TMCC logo as a watermark, and your navigation is one of the most interesting that I've seen. I don't know that I'd keep it black and white though. It could be really powerful with a monochromatic color scheme.
