I purchased one of the cheap bamboo tablets a couple weeks ago and love it. Definitely makes illustrator more enjoyable.

FYI there is a little bit older version 21" Cintiq on Craigslist for 450 OBO. Not sure if it's still there there as it's been a couple weeks since I was looking, but it sounds like a good deal to me!
