I went with the simpler design but made it more personalized!

Beautiful. Does all the text have to be centered?

This design is very simple, I like it. It has a sort of "grace" (pun intended) fulness to it. Which is why I'm wondering why your small blocks of text are all caps (which is loud and hard to read) and why some areas of text have poor contrast with the BG. Like Charlie said with the centered thing, centered is cool for a homepage, start thinking of where your'e going to shove that nav when you get into the nuts and bolts of your website. Nice layout and BG image, well done.

I think your design is amazing most especially the background. Beautiful colors! I also like how you added one streak of translucent pink border at the side just to help guide the eye towards the center of the page where the text are. Your font choice is great! Overall, good work!

Very "graceful" I like the way your design is simple clean, I honestly wouldn't change anything about it. The type stands out from the background and doesnt take away from the design.
