Project One Final Decided

Post by steven_dickson »

So From the Critique Ya'll seemed to enjoy this one. I actually preferred the second layout to this one, but in a field were the client is the one calling the shots. I'm going to chance it and get my feet wet. With you guys as my "Clients". I hope it turns out just as fun as you guys!

Heh. This design makes me chuckle.

It has an urban quality to it that goes beyond the skyline in the background. That tile ripple at the top looks like something out of a subway station, with your logo as a sign. It has a grittiness to it, from the colors and contrast in the wacky picture, the skyline and the water/tiles at the top. I can smell old metal and wet concrete just looking at the page. The navigation is easy to read and follow and it works in concert with the footer to frame the content.

Speaking of content, where is it (aside from the picture of course)? Need to know about you. Also, your buttons are not all equally spaced.

Very evocative work. And yes, I'm still chuckling.

Hi Steven,

I think some people may have interpreted your second set of roughs to be your final; it seems a little empty in here. Anyway, I quite like the layout of everything so far, but it's a little sparse on the content. I think when you do add text, it might be a little difficult to make it stand out from the background, perhaps you could put a semi-transparent box that's the same color as your header design behind it. I also think that your picture could be moved down a notch, maybe to the point where there's equal space between the navigation bar and the tops of those buildings. Nice picture, by the way, it really lends itself to showing off your personality!

Cool pic in the backround. It is cut thought at strange place, it think if you show little bet more of the buildings it will work better. Also, i might consider to chang the fond type. The capital letter read better when they dont have any serifs. Also looks like you got white backround, if you going to keep it, try plasing white boarder around you face pic to unify you page and make it more define edge against you backround.

Mr. Steve, this design inspires nothing short of fascination. Your picture stands out as the most intriguing part of the layout. This photograph is more than an interesting dynamic composition that captures your personality. It also leaves an element of mystery. The coat, winter scarf, snow cap and goggles make me wonder if you're wearing snowshoes, and if any blizzard in the farthest reaches of Antarctica could hold you back? But then I see city lights as a backdrop, coupled with a mosaic of tiles for a header, and it's clear your setting is urban through and through. Just how does this rugged sense of adventure meet urban sophistication? You leave the viewer eager to learn more. Looking at your expression reminds me of all the adventures encountered by Rocky the flying squirrel in Rocky and Bullwinkle. What could possibly hold you back? I'm eager for your 'About Me' paragraph that helps explain more fully the themes captured in this design.

Hi Steven,
I like the top boarder design, its different and stands out.
I love the background photo of the city landscape.
It has so many emotions attached with it as a subject, very strong image.
Very industrial and or masculine feeling.
I like the personal photo as it adds personal feel with lots of character.

I think you should add your name some where so that you know what your initials stand for.
The only place I noticed it was at the bottom on the email which is very small and you barely notice it.
There is a lot of negative space where the black sky is from the landscape.
Maybe try to make the city larger to fill that space in which takes away from the design.
You need body info somewhere and my suggestion is to put it in the negative space that is left from the black sky.

Hope that helps.
Looks good, Nice job.

Hi Steve,
I enjoyed your project one final. I think it has an urban feel to it. You have a very interesting photo of yourself up there as well. i like the colors you chose. Your initials (at least I think that is what is up top with the triangle and the date) I think of San Diego before I think of you. Otherwise great job.

Hi Steven,

I like the rough you chose; the background image really creates an interesting mood especially when combined with your personal headshot. I do wish you had changed to the right navigation bar, but overall still really cool. Can't wait to read your personal paragraph; based on the photograph I'm sure it will be hilarious.

Hi Steven,

I like the layout you have going here, and the color scheme fits well with the photo you have in here. It's interesting to look at, and admittedly brings up a chuckle or two with it. The texture of the header seems a little out of place, though that might just be me and overall I think you did a good job with this.

Steve,

I love this layout. Your picture is so you, it makes me laugh. Although, I don't see your paragraph about yourself. Where is it? We need to see it.

But other than that, excellent work.
