What I got so far

Hey guys its Vicki,
Even though I’m a little shaky on my project design, I really like my layouts. Just a heads up I have an old version of Photoshop and to “export” my gifs I had to go through the save for web so it’ll open up internet explorer (It chooses the browser).
I’m not sure about the colors and the type I have. I like green, so I tried a light pastel green, and to stick with the natural color theme I think I’m going to incorporate a wood image or a cork board image in place of the black. I started playing with this in the second rough.
A lot of my images in the “slide show” (sorry I know the flashing's a little harsh once it get going but that’s not really Photoshop’s forte and I’ve never worked with moving .gifs before) are just place holders to give you an idea, I don’t know what I’d put in to replace them. Maybe a better quality finished versions for some of the bad ones. Maybe add or replace some with my sketches like my avatar, but it doesn’t look the most professional. What do you guys think?
Also just to let you know, my buttons might change, I was just thinking a couple years ahead. I don’t have; a store, commission’s guidelines, and I don’t go to any conventions or craft fairs yet. And I’m still debating on the search button. I’m thinking of putting a theme to the buttons and having them look like elevator buttons or sticky notes.
My first design I got the idea off a lot of different sites (slideshow) I just moved the logo to give more room for the social media, buttons, TMCC link and my avatar. I took a lot from the TMCC website as well as some of the website from artist I follow. And the second design (this one will transition to a full image when you roll over), I got the idea off of one of my class mates last semester in 118 (I can’t remember who sorry), I thought it looked cool. One of my biggest challenges was incorporating lots of images without it looking cluttered and chaotic. Personally I like the first design with the slideshow, I can add to it as time goes instead having to completely replace.

I know it’s a lot; I find the art ones inspirational because of their unique styles and creativity, as well as some of the great ways to show art on a webpage without it being crowded. Some of the sites are inspirational because they give me ideas for the future when I’ll have a store, conventions and fairs.

It's cool to have your animation! I like the first design because it looks nice to show your work on the left side and bring navigation and your description on the right. The thing is that I would use black tmcc logo over green one to give more contrast to your background.

I like the second one a lot more. Some cooler buttons on the right (I'm sure we'll learn how) and it'll be awesome.

I like the second one the best. I like how you have animation on top of stuff you have drawn. I would add some color text or the background to your buttons.

I like the second one better. The gifs are a really good idea. I would just make the welcome to my website type a lot bigger because at times it's hard to read.

Hey Vicki. I really like the first one but I think people might get a little confused with the navigation. I might suggest that you keep the animation of the VICKI, but leave the words ViCKI and have the art and drawings of yours constantly flip and rotate in the backround on the left side of screen.

Hey guys, thanks for your replies, what do you think about the idea of the buttons being sticky notes (I think this is a little more applicable but its been done before) or elevator buttons? Do you think the buttons should be something else? I know the buttons I have are plan but I did them as place holds for the layout, they will be looking much different.

Sticky notes might work great against your hand-drawn art on the left. Since the buttons are yellow anyway (and it looks like cork board behind) it would make sense.

Ya I started messing with the concept in the top design but I knew I wouldn't have time to start messing the bottom one too, so I just submitted it.

Both absolutely blew me away, are excellent representations of what you offer a client!

I think the animation of your name on the first more memorable than the more common scrolling pictures on the second one. Also, the static images (should remain as buttons, sticky notes are so overused) give the viewer more time to look at your work.

The colors seem a bit pale, I wanted deeper shades. Is this because that's how you work or because of transferring your images to digital? The fonts are on the boring side, disappointing among all that creativity, I was looking for swirls and stuff.
