Alex(andra) Buyck

"Design is so simple. That's why it's so complicated."

Hi my name is Alexandra, but I go by Alex for short. I currently live in Carson City, Nevada. Previous to that I was living in Reno, Nevada. I’ve been an ardent artist since I was a kid and I’m thankful that I was allowed to foster that creativity. I went briefly to CSU Monterey Bay for a degree in Computer Science, which coming from an artist background was not a good fit for me. I switched to Web Design (so this class is a very good refresher because I forgot so much) before realizing I wanted the more broad Graphic Design degree after relocating to Reno. While the expectation of web design skills is present in my graphic design degree, I learned a whole slew of other skills related to screen printing, printing simply on paper, design in a digital landscape, design fundamentals and more. All while developing people skills with developers, designers and professionals across the board. While I didn’t exactly know what I wanted then, I know now that I want to be a strong designer with great communication skills in a leadership role. I’ve since learned so much and I am incredibly eager to use all my knowledge over the course of a diverse educational journey, and focus it all into the right project, the right company and the right team.
