About Me

Hello and welcome to my website, my name is Tucker Monticelli and this website is to showcase my work achived throughout the GRC175 website design class. I am a 24 year old male living in Reno Nevada and am persuing a career in graphic communications. The panals below will discribe three projects that were given in the class, the first is the website your browsing now, a personal website to display all the websites I have compiled. The Second site is a redesign of a local business website. Finally the third website is a design for the Graphic Communications website for Truckee Meadows Community College.

Project 1

This website was inspired by the popularity of scrolling websites with parallax effects, this lead to the idea of diving deeper and deeper into the ocean and discovering the creatures living beneath. The branding of the website represents my personal branding, 'Blackfisk' is the name I chose to create my art under, it creates a sense of being and aesthetic instantly and is very easy to recognize, search and understand. Blackfisk is Norwegian for cephalopod, I chose the name because I feel that art and photography can blend and morph as needed for survival.

Project 2

For project 2 we were instructed to recreate a local companies website. I chose to redesign Bobo's Mougle Mouse, a ski and snowboard shop. I used a main header with a slideshow and side navigation bar.

Project 3

For project three we were instucted to create a dynamic website for the Graphic Communications program. I chose to follow the color scheme I had created earlier in my graphics career, I had designed a eyeball with exlimation marks around them symbolising the wow factor that we as designers strive to create. I utilized parallax scrolling as well as many css and javascript effects borrowed from the Materialize API.

Granata

During instuction I had compiled a test website where I could learn and descover how to better use CSS and HTML. The website linked below is a website I created using the images I took of a friend in the blackrock desert. I also created a bit of a fake story behind the website, its style reminicent of old grindhouse movies.

Photography

This is my tumblr filled with my photography. I designed the CSS myself and wanted to create a scrolling black matte board appearence, as if the photos were embossed and they scroll under a fixed header with my personal logo, the effect was meant to simulate real matte board paper being filed under a portfolio sheet.
