In 1970 my family and I left Agrigento Italy and settled in New York to pursue the land of opportunity. With little money and big dreams we learned the art of New York style pizza. Our dreams were then realized and it was confirmed that America is the land of opportunity. In 1978 we opened our first restaurant in Woodbridge, Virginia and sold it in 1981 to open Joe's Place at Baileys Crossroads. With ongoing success we opened a Joe's Place in Arlington, Vienna, Fairfax and Gaithersburg. Over time we have become known as having the best pizza in town.
A review in the Washington Post said:
"The main reason to eat at Joe's Place is the excellent pizza."

In 2007 we decided to consolidate the operations and keep only the Arlington and Vienna locations open. This has allowed us to have more members of the family on site and strengthen our concept of consistent customer satisfaction.
We are deeply moved and do appreciate the hundreds of e-mails sent by our customers concerning these changes. We consider our cooking health conscious and flavorful. We were one of the first restaurants in the Washington to go "Smoke Free in '93". My sons Roberto, Enrico, Allessandro and I; Vinny, his wife Rosa, his children Rosabel, Rosario and Gabriella; Calogero, his wife Maria & daughter Marisa; Rosario, his wife Patricia, son Alessandro; Fortunato, his wife Maria & daughter Federica; Franco and his wife Ana, along with our staff are very proud to serve you.
