Hello everyone!
These are my final designs for project 1. I decided to push forward my first layout, taking some of the suggestions you guys gave me. Most of my changes were pretty minor and just streamlining the design. I tried to make sure all my contrast was right and everything was easy to read. The fonts have mostly stayed the same although I changed the handwritten font to one I found a bit more expressive. I also took the instructors advice about the images expanding them so they covered the horizontal white border and making it bigger on the mobile design. I think the website does a good job of representing me while being easy to navigate and follow.
The two sites I took inspiration for are https://www.soul-waves-vinyl.com/ which is just a website I found very visually appealing and its where I took the idea to have a more subdued background to louder images/fonts from and the other website is https://onepagelove.com/ which is just a curated website of a bunch of different landing pages you can just keep scrolling and more website examples come up, I personally really like to look at a wide variety of what people are already doing and websites like this really help that process.

Hello Jose!
I like the subtle changes you’ve added to both the mobile and computer versions of your design. It definitely looks easier to navigate and still expresses you. The only thing I would say is that your name for the mobile design feels slightly smaller than the rest of the buttons. I would make it slightly bigger for the type hierarchy, as it is at the top of the design. Very calming colors and photo, the layout compliments it well.

Hi Jose,
I like the design you chose to finalize, and I really like the muted colors you have going on. I also really like the picture you decided to choose to use for your homepage and the fonts you decided to use as well, because they're really easy to read. One thing I'd suggest is to consider the size of your type and the hierarchy of importance on your homepage, because from afar, it may seem a little difficult to navigate with how small your links are on your computer version. But overall, I think you've got some really pleasing-to-the-eye designs that work very well! Great work!

Hi Jose,
I really like the final design that you chose! I think that your color scheme works really well with your landscape background. I think that you also did a good job with condensing it down to the phone size as well! Overall I think that you did a really great job!

Hey Jose,
Great design I like how you decided to use a landscape photo with this design it really pops. Same with the colors they fit very well with everything giving purpose to everything else. I don't know how to feel about the text overlaying on your landscape picture for your mobile it would might be benefial to add shapes to them and changinging the opactiy. Overall, great design and I can't wait to see hwo it comes out as a web.

These are a real leap in quality over your preliminary designs, Jose.
That computer design is 100% embracing it's destiny as a coffee table book cover. Expanding that image out and letting the endless sky and mountain horizon do the talking was a great call. Using your header and footer as framing devices is also strong. It serves to really organize your content. Your serif type is serving you well, too. It's easily read and traditional. Goes well with the western landscape pic. You've come up with a very interesting solution to your navigation on your mobile version. It's like you've separated them into two "pods" and are highlighting one "pod" with your background image, while your projects almost feel like a dropdown or secondary menu. Neat!
The only real issues I have with it are in the realm of vertical centering. Your class info in the footer of your computer design could be smaller and vertically centered in it's space. Also, each of your button sets on your mobile version could have been vertically centered in your two navigation "pods".
Well done!

I like your colors. They feel natural and it’s easy on the eyes. I enjoy your desktop version a lot. The small type with big picture is a good contrast and adds visual interest. The handwritten type on top is also a nice touch. I think I would’ve liked to see it for the pages buttons as well on the mobile, and the “GRC 175 etc.” on the bottom of the desktop. The navigation seems simple and intuitive. The improvements that you added really make a difference. Nice Job!

Hey Jose,
You pretty much refined your design and I love it. One complaint is definitely the readability of the design, finding a hard time to find Hierarchy and legibility. I love the concept though! Feels old fashion in a good way! Feels natural and a sight to see, Can't wait for more!

Hey Jose,
I like your picture choice , the whole layout is nicely done your font choice reminds me of the fonts used in horror movies and with that picture it gives it a kind of trance like look which I liked . You Web layout is my favorite with how its nicely laid out and focus on the picture its simple yet has some mystery behind it Nicely done !

Hello Jose,
The picture of the sky you chose for the website works very well with the color scheme you went with! I also like how you added those gray borders to break apart the image more. One thing I would suggest is emphasizing your name more in both versions to bring more attention to it. Otherwise, I love the simplicity and neatness of your design and cant wait to see the end results.
