PROJECT 1 FINAL

Post by quentin_debrabander »

Hello!
This is my final webpage. I chose to go with my second one because it seems like everyone liked it more. It was cleaner, easier to read, and less likely to confuse. I think it represents me because it has my face on it. It is a funny picture and I can be funny. It's also clean and sleek, like myself, and how I like my webpages to be. Im not a clutter person, I don't like owning many things. Therefore, this website is a good representation of myself. I chose to keep the black on the mobile version because I think it looks cool, and changing things up is fun. Mobile webpage space is also smaller, therefore there's more space for the eye to take its time. A webpage the size of a billboard should be fast and white, there's too much space, and the eye spends too long looking for something otherwise. I think white is faster, and black is slower. I found these website to be helpful. I found them by searching for modern trends and tips and tricks to make personal websites pop more.

Hi Quentin!
I love the tiny dead fish in your website. It adds a lot of humor to your design, along with your portrait. I also see the logic in having white for a larger display website and black for a smaller display. Only thing I would recommend would be to smooth down the corners of your portrait, unless you’re aiming for a collage kind of look, which also works! Very sleek and modern look for a website.

Hi Quentin,
I like how clean both of your designs turned out, and I really like the sans serif type you chose as well. I also like how your web layouts seem like they'd be easy to navigate, and I like how you kept your portrait colorized against that contrasting background. One thing I'd suggest is to maybe consider where you'd put the "GRC 175" requirement on your page, because it seems to be a little out of place being under your email, but overall, I think your contrast between your computer and mobile version look really cool! Great job!

Hey Quentin,

This is a really good design, I like how overall simplistic it is. I believe the simplest you can make it the more clean and cut you make the design. Only feedback would be fixing part of the tracing issues on your mobile design as the extra white in some parts throw me off. Overall, great final can't wait to see it as a web.

Looking good, Quentin.

I like the color changing backgrounds between the mobile and the computer layouts. Both work well and use contrast well. You certainly succeeded in making it super clean. Great use of margin throughout. And your use of proximity to group things is really working. A design this clean will be super easy to build for Project Two. Your fonts are super sharp edged and fit what you're going for here. Good use of different font weights to establish hierarchy. I also like the underline under your navigation. It bleeds off the edge and drags the eye toward your nav, which is super easy to find and probably to use. The upside down fish cracks me up. It looks like it's your light source on the mobile version, like we're on a deep sea exploration or something.

The only thing I think it could have used was a little more leading in your bodycopy.

Great job!

Hi Quentin,
I like the clean look you went with your design. Overall I find it very neat and readable and the inclusion of the fish is such a small detail but a really unique touch! Also I want to note how the choice with white for the computer sized version and black for the mobile sized version was really clever! If I could suggest anything I would touch up your tracing on your mobile sized version and really clean up those white edges good. Also maybe play around with the placement of your email address to bring more attention to it. Overall I think you did a great job and I am excited to see how the end result turns out!

Hey Quentin!

I really Love the simplicity, and it feels like it would have a animation behind it! Love the little easter eggs in the design itself too. The 2 different colors for the different formats is a smart call too! I just really like the personality you put into the design! Overall Fantastic work, can't wait to see more!

Hello Quentin!
I think you have a great design going with this one! The layout is very clean and well put together and I really like the splash of color that you added with your portrait, especially paired with black and white. I would honestly give your bio on the mobile version just a little more room to stretch out because its look a little too constrained especially with the center alignment. Your design looks good, great job!

Hi Quentin! I really like your final design! The minimalism of your site is very nice and I love how the colors of your portrait and fish help make them stand out from it. One thing I would change is putting some distance between you and your fish on your mobile design, I think they're a bit too close and it would match up better with your desktop layout. Really great work!!
