Introduction to Computer Graphics - Design Professional by Daniel Bouweraerts (Design Professional Series: Course Technology / Thomson) Part of the Design Professional Series, Introduction to Computer Graphics provides a solid overview of the applications and software used in print and digital media. Readers learn about the most commonly used applications in computer graphics with this introductory text from the Design Professional Series, each volume of which provides guides to today's hottest multimedia applications. In separate sections dedicated to both print and digital media, Daniel Bouweraerts, graphic communications professor at Truckee Meadows Community College in Reno, Nevada and former business graphics designer, presents a comprehensive overview of design concepts, the main software applications, and production technologies.
Brian Wells
“CTE is something that the nation is focusing on and part of TMCC’s mission,” Wells said. “We work on employability – for example, how well do you communicate and write? We work on helping students acquire skills specifically sought by an employer in a particular field.”
The professional development series that Wells began provides specialized training for teachers who, in turn, teach these detailed skills at academies to students who may subsequently learn on the job, or attend a career or college program after high school graduation. “There is a measurable result from our seminars,” Wells said. “Students are required to pass skills tests on subjects like animation after they’ve completed a few years of preparation in classes at the Signature Academies in Washoe County.”
Ron Marsten
Ron has taught graphic design (Adobe Creative Suite, content creation, web design and commercial printing processes) at TMCC for 17 years. He has a Masters degree in Education, and owns Marston PteroWorks, an online business that sells his radio controlled designs that fly.
